Talks@ROSSIO.Com (PT: Conversas@ROSSIO.Com) – which will be broadcast live on ROSSIO ‘s Youtube – is an initiative that aims to make known the role of ROSSIO in the community, bringing a debate on issues such as the digital preservation of Portuguese cultural heritage.
After the first talk about the access to information that took place on the 28th of September, the next conversation “In the lens of the photographers: archives and photographic collections” (PT: “Na lente dos fotógrafos: os arquivos e as coleções fotográficas”) will take place on the 21st of October, Thursday, by 17h00 PM.
This session will be attended by Dr. Carla Seixas and Dr. Ana Teresa Miranda (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation) and Dr. Isabel Corda (coordinator of the AML/CML Photographic Archive) who will speak about the main photographic collections in these archives, from more iconic to less famous photographs but equally important, from archival description to digital representation.
Photography plays an important role in visually recording certain historical moments, preserving their memory. Don’t miss the opportunity to learn more about the photographic collections that will be made available on ROSSIO.
